The coming EFiX Firmware makes it possible any type of Intel CPU, technically compatible, to be used with any of Mac OS X 10.6 revision.
The technical limitation of Mac OS X 10.6 does allow till today to use the specific types and models of Intel CPUs only.
EFiX breaches this limitation now completely.
So now, with help of EFiX, you can use also any Intel Extreme CPU versions with original Mac OS X DVD 10.6.0 or newer.
This feature remains for original Apple produced systems furthering not available.
Additional info for EFiX users:
Use your original Mac OS X 10.6.0 or 10.6.3 DVD to boot P67 chipset based motherboards,
i3, i5, i7 etc.
ATOM 64 bit CPUs are supported now too.
